"Strong Woman Series" Personal Finance, Banking and Repairing Your Credit
“Personal Finance, Banking and Repairing Your Credit” is the topic for the next “Strong Woman Series” session on Monday, November 2. Courtney Hunter, Nancy Quick, Marie Everett and Darlene Moniz are the featured speakers for this presentation, which runs from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at People’s Credit Union, 43 Memorial Boulevard in Newport. The “Strong Woman Series” is coordinated by the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center and funded by the Miss Swinburne Fund of The Rhode Island Foundation in partnership with People’s Credit Union, Newport Hospital, Newport Public Library & Salve Regina University. The series is the brainchild of Dr. Rosalind Vaz, Middletown resident and Martin Luther King Community Center volunteer. Dr. Vaz is Professor of Pediatrics at Brown University, and a member of the staff of Hasbro Children’s Hospital. The series is designed to enlighten, celebrate, and empower women as women, instead of focusing on them solely as parents or caregivers. The monthly forums include dinner, inspiring presentations and lively discussions at various locations on Aquidneck Island. Reservations are required. There is no charge to attend. For reservations or information about assistance with transportation from the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center to session locations, contact Marilyn at (401) 846-4828 or mwarren@mlkccenter.org.
